Bikepacking provides an opportunity to cycle in wild, remote areas carrying a minimal amount of equipment in a streamlined fashion. Bikepacking combines the beauty of backpacking and the speed of cycle touring in a mostly car-free environment.
Spend 8 days bike packing in the New Mexico backcountry along the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR). Our Women's Intro to Bikepacking will help the beginner to jump into an awesome backcountry adventure with like minded women or provide the novice with more experience. Using pre-tour videos and Q&A zoom sessions the rider will learn how to select a bike and gear as well as how-to's on food selection, cooking and navigation. On tour, we will put our learning to the test as we navigate single and double track as well as some rural paved roads along a New Mexico section of the GDMBR.
The route takes us from Cuba, NM to south of Pie Town, NM.
If you desire to add more time on the trail, there is an 8-day extension that will take you all the way to the US/Mexico border at Antelope Wells, NM
