Join Stroke Across America cross country riders on the shore of the Pacific Ocean at Fort Stevens State Park, as they begin their journey. Cycling along with the group, your 9-day, 344 mile adventure will meander along the mighty Columbia River toward Portland, Oregon, then up the Columbia River Gorge along some of the most spectacular scenery in Oregon. Unlike our other tours, the Columbia River Gorge Camping Adventure tour is just that; cycling during the day and camping along or near the Columbia River in the evenings. We will split our camping on both sides of the river as we share our cycling miles between Oregon and Washington states. Your guides will make sure you are well rested and well fed throughout the trip.
Along the way we'll take in the stunning waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge including the 620-foot Multnomah Falls and the wind-blown town of Cascade Locks. Our route is the beginning of the “Waterfall Corridor” that features Vista House in Crown Point State Scenic Corridor, the stunning scenery and overlooks along the Oregon side of the gorge. Crossing the Columbia into Washington state over the Bridge of Gods at Cascade Locks, we have the opportunity to view the Oregon side of the gorge from their neighbors to the north.
During our adventure you will visit the towns of Astoria, Portland, Cascade Locks, Rainier, Maryhill and Touchet.
