July 31-August 6, 2016
The Empire State Ride is a seven-day, 500+ mile cycling adventure across New York State to support cutting-edge cancer research. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that starts in New York City, goes through some of the most scenic parts of New York State and ends at one of the natural wonders of the world: Niagara Falls.
What's The Empire State Ride Experience Like?
Riders arrive in New York City on Saturday, July 31, 2016, for orientation and check-in. The next morning, we start the adventure together.
Participants ride distances of 60-92 miles per day with challenging elevation gains. The greatest elevation gains occur in the first four days. Everyone rides at their own pace – and you will likely find someone who will ride at yours. You should plan on a 13 – 15 mph pace with a 10 mph average including stops. This will get you to rest stops and into camp each day with plenty of time to rest, refuel and refresh.
While you are out on the route, there are mechanics, first-aid-trained staff and SAG buses driving along and looking out for riders in case you need any help!
The Empire State Ride is fully supported and offers a weeklong route as well as a custom option if you cannot ride all 7 days.
